Debasis Rooj is an Associate Professor of Economics at the FLAME University. Before joining FLAME, he was an Associate Fellow at the Institute for Human Development, Ranchi, India. He has also provided research support for the Economic Survey of Jharkhand 2015-16 and 2018-19, Government of Jharkhand. He was also a part of a Government of Jharkhand sponsored evaluation program on creating awareness about protecting the environment and biodiversity.

He holds a Ph.D. from Northern Illinois University.
